Author Notes: There seems to be this tendency to see Alexander the Great as defined by MODERN (current day) beliefs and practices. Though people of his time period must have loved as deeply as we do, that doesn't mean they loved in the same WAY we do. Nor does it mean that loving more than one person diminished those feelings of love. (I think there's a certain arrogance in thinking our modern beliefs are better -- and that ancient beliefs were inferior...)

Any man might hold a lovely in the circle of his arms.

'Lovely' say you? "Lovely woman, lovely man, (lovely servant)," answer I.

But I am not merely a man. I am a king. Nor am I merely a king; I am the High King -- the King of all kings!

So I shall take whom I wish inside my embrace (and bed). I have earned the right of any man, and more!

And do I love each one I hold?

Do not doubt it, Friends. Though Passion may drive my Conquests, I seek true Love in all those I know!
