I saw your eyes glance at the tattoo on my left wrist and I winced, afraid you'd know...

...afraid that somehow you'd see below the solid black to where the name 'Jimbo' was needled into my flesh. I'd been drinking when I had that tattoo put there, but not enough to deaden the pain.

I was cold sober when I went back to get the band to cover up my folly, but I don't remember feeling anything but a crazy sorrow pinging inside my chest.

I might have blotted out your name, but it's still tattooed forever on my heart.
